Mélanie
co-founder and head chef of the restaurant, was born in Cherbourg.
The LELAIDIER family lives in Brix, so she studied in Valognes, then Cherbourg, and finally in Le Mans. During her youth, she spent all her vacations at her grandparents’ in Quettehou, and with her great aunt in Jonville. After a career of more than twenty years in accounting expertise as a partner in Orne and Calvados, she pursued and obtained a CAP in cuisine out of passion in 2018, while continuing her business services career. In 2021, she decided with Jean-Michel to create Domaine de l’O, and it was an obvious choice to settle in Val de Saire.
Jean-Michel
co-founder, in charge of reception, service, and accommodation, was born in Argentan.
The family lives in Argentan, but maternal family gatherings often take place in Couvains or Airel because his mother and grandparents are from there. On his father’s side, family gatherings are held in Mayenne, Laval, and Ernée. He studied in Argentan and then in Le Mans, before starting a career in accounting expertise in Argentan in 1989 where he became a partner; later adding a similar activity in Caen, and operations in Laval at the group’s headquarters. It’s 33 years in this profession dedicated to businesses, much of it in contact with the hospitality, restaurant, viticulture, and distribution sectors across France.
Throughout all these years, Mélanie and Jean-Michel, both in life and at work, have had a passion for welcoming, listening, and sharing.
